Can I change a question after it has been sent out?

Yes, you can edit a custom question after it has been included in a survey. However, there are some important limitations to consider.

What You CAN Change:

  • Question Wording: You are free to rephrase the question text at any time.

  • Answer Wording: You can change the text of existing selectable answers (like answers to multiple-choice questions). (Note: If you edit the wording of an answer choice that has already received responses, those existing responses will be updated to reflect the new wording in your analytics. For example, you can change an answer from "Slightly Satisfied" to "Somewhat Satisfied" and all previously collected responses for that option will automatically update to show the new wording in your reports.)

What You CANNOT Change:

  • Adding New Answer Options: You cannot add more answer choices to a question after it has been used in a survey. For example, you cannot add a fourth option to a multiple-choice question that originally had three. In this case, you would need to create a new question and add it to your survey.
